Team A: Tim & Anthony
-
Hey awesome riders! My name is Tim (he/him) and I'm excited to be a team captain with Anthony this year. This will be my 5th year on the Bike Rally and 3rd year as a captain.
My experience with the Bike Rally has been consistently wonderful. Every year I've met new friends and grown closer to old friends. I'm always delighted by how much riders are there for each other, especially within teams. There is always so much love and support - from our first socials right through the weekend in Montreal.
As Team Captains, we are looking to provide a welcoming and fun space for new an experienced riders alike. We want to make sure that your experience is the as memorable and fulfilling for you as it can be.
-
Hi, I’m Anthony (he/him)! I’m very much looking forward to my ninth Bike Rally, and fourth time as a team co-captain, next summer.
What first started as a challenge to myself, to see if I could do it, has turned into an important part of my life. And time and again I have seen the same thing happen to so many other Bike Rally folks. You get hooked - on the fun, on the challenge, on the community and friends you make, on the cause we support and the knowledge that we’re doing good work - and it becomes a part of who you are.
What I love about being a captain is having the opportunity to help shape the experience for others, especially first time riders. I also love seeing other team members bring their own varied gifts and unique abilities to the team, whatever they are, because the Bike Rally is a welcoming place for everyone.

Team C: Grant & Jordan
-
Hi everyone. I’m Grant, and I have no idea if I’ll be a good captain.
This is my second-year riding, and last year from day one it was…heavy. Being from Ottawa I only knew maybe four people? And it was wet -so very, very wet. On day two I didn’t know if I’d do the ride again. But then my team gelled; we laughed, we talked smack, bottles were passed around, and the days were spent riding with lovely people!
The ride gives in ways that are hard, but also delightful. When Jordan asked me if I would help him captain a team, after I got over the initial surprise (me, really?), I knew it was a chance to give back, so here we are! As your captain, I’ll be there to help however I can before and during the ride. See you soon!
-
Hello! I’m Jordan (he/him), and I’m honoured to be entering my 8th year with the Friends for Life Bike Rally, and my 4th year as a team co-captain.
2024 was an unforgettable year—one that left me deeply moved by the camaraderie, kindness, and commitment shared by my teammates and the entire rally family.
Looking ahead, I’m excited to help lead a new team focused on inclusivity, playfulness, and a love of biking. We’re not just here to ride—we’re here to raise essential funds for PWA, Trellis, and ACCM. I’m here to support my teammates in achieving their fundraising goals and making an impact along the way.
I’m thrilled to be co-captaining alongside Grant—a top notch human who has so much to teach us all. Together, we are ready to motivate and guide our team to another meaningful year.
And here we go 2025!!
Team D : Kyle & Josh
-
Hi! I’m Kyle and this will be my fourth year doing the bike rally. If you’ve made it this far and are wondering if you should sign up, the answer is yes! I joined my first rally after meeting a cute guy at a backyard pride party in June who, within 15 minutes, easily convinced me to sign up.
This experience totally changed my life and I’m so grateful that I gave myself the opportunity to try something new and say yes! That cute guy is now my boyfriend and I’m surrounded by the best friends I could ever imagine.
As a captain, I want to build a sense of community, where we can laugh about how much our legs hurt after day one and cry about how beautiful it is to connect with everyone. Josh is one of my best friends and I’m SO excited to be co-captains with him.
We welcome everyone to join our team and will provide a supportive and inclusive bike rally experience.
-
Hey Everyone! I’m Josh, and I’m beyond excited to be stepping into the role of Team Captain for this year’s Friends for Life Bike Rally. This is my fourth year riding, and let me tell you, I am hooked! The rally has truly changed my life in so many ways—it's pushed me both physically and mentally, and most importantly, it’s given me a sense of community that I never expected. Along the way, I’ve met incredible people and created memories I’ll cherish forever.
Whether you’re a seasoned rider or this is your first rally, just know we’re all in this together! My goal is to make sure you have an amazing, fun experience while we ride toward our goal of raising critical funds and awareness for this incredible cause. We’ve got a mission, but we’re also here to enjoy the ride, build friendships, and support each other every step (or pedal) of the way.
Let’s make this year unforgettable!
Team E: Michael & Rob

Hello Cyclists I'm Michael (He/Him) 2025 will be my 15th year as a
participant in the Bike Rally and my 5th as a Team Lead.
This event has become part of my DNA over the years, it's hard to
imagine what summer would be like without it.
Friends for Life is the perfect name for this event as I’m still
friends with teammates from my first year.
I described that year as the best event I had attended in my entire
adult life and I’ve returned every year since.
My aim as a captain is to help create a fantastic bike rally
experience for everyone. Expect plenty of fun socials, team rides, &
an awesome team name/swag, along with support for your training,
fundraising, and camping as needed. -
Hello, I am Rob Veinott (He/Him) and I am really excited to be riding for my 15th year and my first as a team captain along with my friend Michael Shreve. I have gained so much by my participation in the event. I love the beautiful training rides near Toronto, I love the idea of going for a bike ride on a weekend morning with my friends and I have loved the many teams I have been on over the years. Thats a lot of love but if you have participated in the event, you will know what I’m talking about and if you are a new rider I guarantee you will feel it.
As a team captain I hope that we have fun together preparing for and during the event. I look forward to being with you at team socials and hopefully helping you put the fun in fundraising. And I hope you will help make this year’s event the best ever. And I will try to make sure to not get lost during the training rides but if I do and you follow me, we will be lost together :-).
Team F: Simon W. & Michelle
-
Well, you know my name is Simon (He/Him). This will be my fourth year cycling from Toronto to Montréal in the Friends for Life Bike Rally. Each year has meant new friendships, and yes, Bike Rally like life really is about the friends you meet along the way.
I love cycling, I love the joy in this event, and I love the support provided by the Bike Rally, through its community partners like the PWA, Trellis and ACCM, for so many people with so much need.
Looking forward, I'm so excited to lead a team where we're looking to have fun, support each other, laugh and most importantly work together on the incredible journey that is the F4LBR!
-
Hey everyone! I'm Michelle (she/her), and I’m super excited to be heading into my second year on the rally and my first as a Team Captain!
Last year, what really stuck with me about the F4LBR was the amazing friendships and the incredible sense of community. From day one, everyone was so welcoming and supportive—my team especially! That experience made me want to step up as a captain this year so I could give back a bit of what I got in my first year.
As your captain, my goal is to make this rally unforgettable for all of us. I can’t wait to plan some fun get-togethers so we can bond before the big event, support you with your fundraising efforts, and just be here to help in any way I can.
Looking forward to an awesome F4LBR 2025 together!
Holy Spokes: Dianne & Stiva
-
My name is Dianne Hind, this will be my 10th year with the Friends For Life Bike Rally and my 5th time being a team captain.
If you join Stiva's and my team you can expect lots of helpful information and lots of fun too. We like to have monthly socials which are great ways to meet your other teammates and especially good for first year riders to ask questions and gain insights to the bike rally experience.
For me, the bike rally really has meant friends for life and has been a richly rewarding experience. Cheers
-
My name is Stiva (he/him.) This will be my 7th year with the Bike Rally. I started off as a Rustler and have ridden 5 times. The years have not been consecutive, but the Bike Rally family has always welcomed me back with open arms. I connected with the Bike Rally to help make a difference in our community and elevate such a great cause. I live by the mantra that we are here on this earth to leave it a bit better than we found it. And I think everyone associated with the Bike Rally and PWA are doing just that.
I am thrilled to be onboard for another year as the Sponsorship Co-Lead, a Team Captain and adding Bike Rally Ambassador to my responsibilities. I spend my life teaching Group Fitness classes, so I naturally connect with leading groups and building community.
As a Co-Captain with Dianne, I will always lead from a place of inclusivity and will help provide you with as much support as you need to help you feel prepared, connected and excited for the great journey that is the Bike Rally.
Let's get this party started!!!
Cirque du Sore Legs: Kevin & Josh

Very excited to join the rally for my fifth year, returning as a team captain for our Montreal/Kingston contingent.
Having participated as a Toronto-based rider, a volunteer and now three years riding into my hometown
I feel ready to support all aspects of the rally. I can’t wait for a hopefully drier year 🤣.
-
I have known about the Bike Rally for many years but as a non-cyclist and living in Kingston, I didn’t think it was possible. I learned in 2021 that Trellis HIV Community Care was now a partner of the Bike Rally, and as I needed a new exercise challenge, I registered for the 3-day ride. I purchased a road bike and started training in doors. My first training ride on the road, I didn’t know how to change the gears or clip in. I met amazing people while training in Kingston, Montreal, and Toronto, who shared biking tips and motivation, including changing my registration to 6-day ride.
The Rally experience was life changing and this will be my third year participating. Last year Kevin (lives in Montreal) and I (live in Kingston) coached a small but mighty team of riders who resided outside of Toronto. We created a team from a distance, with the support of technology and training rides in both Montreal and Kingston.
This year Kevin and I hope to recruit more local cyclists and to provide support, encouragement, social events, and friendship to other riders outside of Toronto. We hope to build a strong community, awareness of the Rally, the work of our local agencies and to end stigma.

Hey folks, I’m Michael 👋! This will be my sixth time cycling from Toronto to Montréal in the Friends for Life Bike Rally, and my second time as team captain.
I originally embarked on this pedal-powered pursuit of glory to support the life-changing services offered by our local AIDS Service Organizations, to give back to my community, to meet new people and for the physical, mental and emotional challenges the Bike Rally provides.
What brings me back each year you may ask? The important impact of this charity ride. The random acts of kindness. The sense of community. The lifelong memories. The friendships. The laughs (and the cries!).
My love for the open road is matched only by my commitment to fostering camaraderie and a sense of belonging among riders – old and new – which is what brought me back to lead a team once again this year.
For those thinking of joining for the first time, I promise that this experience will be nothing short of amazing. New to cycling? Worry not, my friend. Heck, I didn’t even know how to spell “bike” before training started my first year! There’s a whole community here to get you ready to roll when we depart in August.
So, saddle up and join me and Simon (my fearless co-captain) as we pedal our way to triumph, leaving a trail of tire tracks and unforgettable memories in our wake.
From the first mile to the finish line, I promise you’ll have a wheely unforgettable time! ;)

I can't wait to get back in the saddle, heading into my 16th year participating in the Bike Rally, I've always said, "It's the best part of my summer!"
A former love of mine told me they were taking on this daunting endeavor. I was floored! The next summer, I signed up for the challenge. Yet, it's the cause that really cemented my passion for the Bike Rally and kept me coming back year after year. It replenishes your mind, body and soul, all the while raising much-needed funds for our partner HIV/AIDS Service Organizations. It's an honour to once again co-lead a team of riders who are dedicated to making a positive difference.
Join Michael and I as we provide guidance, encouragement, and FUN over several months of training, capped off by the big event.
See you out on the road!

I'm so thrilled to be back this year as a team captain with the Velma to my Roxie, Jonathan!
Taking on the role of Team Captain for the first time was a daunting task, but thanks to the support of the Bike Rally community and our team, it was one of the most meaningful experiences I've had.
I felt so proud seeing everyone come together, support one another and ultimately have a blast cycling from Toronto to Montreal! If we can make five days of rain a party, you know we're doing something right!
Apart from the Rally itself, the training rides and social events leading up to the Rally were some of my favourite parts of the experience. You start to make new friends, improve your cycling, and build the confidence that will get you from Toronto to Montreal in one piece. As your captain I look forward to being there with you each step of the way and making sure that your time with the Rally is absolutely fabulous!
I can guarantee that there will be loads of fun and laughter with us! I look forward to supporting and encouraging you from fundraising and training to crossing the finish line in Montreal!

2024 marks my third year in the Friends For Life Bike Rally, and my second year as a Team Captain. In my first year on the rally, I made a commitment to myself and to the cause to give it my all, and year after year that desire to give back continues to grow. Soaking in everything that the Bike Rally has to offer has truly been life changing for me. From training rides to team socials to the the big ride - every year provides a new journey marked with lasting memories.
The F4LBR fosters inclusiveness, and that is a feeling I want to continue to expand upon, not just for myself but for everyone on our team. I cannot wait to get back in the saddle and take this journey with what will undeniably be an amazing team. The fact that I also get to return to the role of Co-Captain with my dear friend Brian is just the cherry on top of what will no doubt be another amazing year!
So, whether you are a first year rider or a returning rider, know that Brian and I are so excited to get our team moving! Together we will fundraise, make connections and support ending the stigma of HIV - all while continuing to get fit. Nothing beats being able to raise funds for an amazing support network whilst having a blast doing it - and making friends for life! Trust us, you don’t want to miss out on all the fun we are going to have!
