Call for Steering Committee Members and Team Captains
Behind every incredible Rally are the passionate leaders who make it all happen. Our Steering Committee and Team Captains play an essential role in shaping the journey from early planning to the finish line.
Throughout the year, Steering Committee members collaborate to guide logistics, planning, and the overall success of next year’s Rally. Meanwhile, our dedicated Team Captains lead with heart and commitment, ensuring every participant feels supported, prepared, and inspired to create unforgettable memories on and off the road.
Below are descriptions of the roles we’re looking to fill.
Community Engagement
Engaged in fostering relationships between the bike rally and local communities, stakeholders, and partners. This position works to build awareness, encourage participation, and create meaningful connections locally and within the event’s surrounding areas. Duties include coordinating community outreach, working closely with local municipalities to enhance the exposure of the rally and creating connections with local community groups for volunteer support.
Media & Communications
Working in close partnership with PWA, duties include managing external and supporting internal communications for the bike rally. This role involves creating and distributing press releases, working with journalists and media outlets to secure press coverage and coordinate interviews. Strong storytelling, writing, and digital marketing skills are very helpful in this portfolio.
Wellness
This portfolio is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all event participants. This role includes organizing on-site medical support, developing wellness strategies and promoting overall physical and mental health throughout the event. As well, Wellness is responsible for record keeping of incidents and ensuring wellness support team are certified professionals. A key aspect of this role is promoting injury prevention, stress reduction, and ensuring that participants are well-cared for during the rally.
Participant Engagement
This position focuses on enhancing the participant experience before, during and post bike rally by ensuring active involvement and fostering a welcoming environment. It includes conceptualizing and executing interactive activities like socials and-on rally evening activities to help build an inclusive, diverse, and equitable event
Recruitment
The recruitment position involves sourcing, recruiting, and onboarding riders for the bike rally. This position works toward building a diverse pool of candidates by leveraging various recruitment channels, including online platforms, community outreach, and networking events. One of the essential responsibilities is running zoom sessions for first year riders to help welcome and inform them about the bike rally. Also you are the first point for contact to help navigate and support any questions or concerns.
