Your Ride, Your Challenge, Your Impact!

The 1-Day Port Hope 100KM Ride is the shortest version of the Friends For Life Bike Rally. It is a fully supported ride, and is a great chance to partake in the fun and make it back to Toronto the same day.

We depart from Corktown Common in Toronto and head east approximately 100KM over 1 day to Town Park Recreation Centre in Port Hope.

Once you arrive, you’ll have time to relax, shower and have dinner. At 8:00PM, a free bus is provided to take you and your bike back to Toronto that same evening, or you can hitch a ride with friends and family if you prefer.

Who are we raising money for?

Funds raised directly support AIDS Service Organizations (ASOs) in Toronto, Kingston, Ottawa, and Montreal. When you register, you can select which ASO you’d like your donations to support. Frequently Asked Questions

Is the ride difficult?

The Bike Rally is not a race, so you get to ride at your own pace. However, 100KM in August does come with physical challenges. But with the right amount of training and preparation, you’ll have no problem completing it. People of all ages and abilities complete the ride every year!

Will I fit in?

Of course you will! The Bike Rally is known for cultivating a very friendly and approachable group of people. Experienced participants love to help first year riders.

Every Rider also joins a team, which you’ll socialize with and build friendships with in the months leading up to departure.

There are also many Bike Rally social events before and after the Rally which you will be invited to and where you’ll meet lots of participants to become friends with.

Can I stay longer in Port Hope?

You certainly can! Below you’ll find a list of recommended hotels and restaurants in the Port Hope area.

If you’d still like your bike to be returned back to Toronto in the evening, you will need to arrange for someone to pick it up at Monsignor Fraser College. Alternatively, you can keep your bike with you during your stay in Port Hope.

How do I train?

Every winter beginning in November we hold FREE weekly indoor training sessions at the Central YMCA and Parliament St. Fitness in Toronto. Visit our events calendar to view the schedule and register.

Every spring and summer beginning in April we hold weekend outdoor training rides which gradually increase in distance to prepare you for the actual Bike Rally. Our events calendar will include info about these training rides in early 2026.

If your location or schedule does not allow for you to participate in our training sessions, we recommend training at least once a week and following along with our incremental increase in distance.

What if I have a mechanical issue or get hurt?

We have bike mechanics and a team of registered health professionals who travel with us. If you get injured or your bike gets damaged while riding, you can call our emergency help number and a Crew member in a vehicle will arrive at your location to pick you and your bike up.

Our mechanics have a lot of supplies with them to fix most problems, but if the damage is extensive they may need to visit a local bike shop to purchase the necessary supplies. Unfortunately, this may cause you to be unable to ride a portion of the day.

Staying in Port Hope

After your cycling day is done and you’ve arrived in Port Hope, you can choose what to do for the remainder of the evening! You may want to stick around and continue to celebrate with everyone, and stay for dinner and be part of our awards and recognitions ceremony. However, there is no pressure to remain on the campsite. If you’d like to leave soon after you arrive, you can do that!
