Behind the Bike Rally are the passionate leaders who make it all happen. Our Steering Committee and Team Captains play an essential role in shaping the journey from early planning to the finish line.

Team Captains:

As a Team Captain, you are part of the Rally’s leadership community. You help shape the experience, support and connect your participants, and play a key role in making the Rally unforgettable, on and off the road.

Steering Committee Members:

As a valued member of the Steering Committee, you’ll collaborate year-round with fellow committee members, Co-Chairs and Bike rally Staff to guide planning, coordinate logistics, and ensure that every participant has an unforgettable experience. Your leadership helps bring the Bike Rally to life, from start to finish.

Below are descriptions of the roles we’re looking to fill.

Training 
Responsible for planning and coordinating spinning classes and training rides throughout the season, including bike skills and learning seminars. This portfolio helps riders build the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to prepare for Rally week. 

Recruitment 
Responsible for sourcing, recruiting and onboarding riders for the Bike Rally. This includes building a diverse pool of participants, running first-year rider information sessions and serving as an initial point of contact for rally experience info sessions 

Wellness 
Responsible for the health, safety and overall well-being of participants throughout the Rally. This includes coordinating medical and wellness support, promoting injury prevention and stress reduction, maintaining incident records and ensuring appropriate support is available throughout the event. 

Sponsorship & Fundraising 
In partnership with PWA, responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with sponsors, partners and donors while supporting fundraising initiatives; to include fundraising seminars and individual fundraising sessions that help deliver the Rally and maximize its impact. 

Media, Communications & Community Engagement 
Working closely with PWA, this portfolio manages external and internal communications while building awareness and strengthening relationships with local communities, stakeholders and partners. Responsibilities include storytelling, social media, media relations, community outreach and connections with municipalities and community organizations. 

Participant Engagement 
Focuses on creating a welcoming, connected and inclusive participant experience before, during and after the Rally. This includes social events, evening activities and opportunities that encourage connection, participation and community. 

Rustlers 
Responsible for coordinating the daily collection, transportation and distribution of participants’ belongings throughout the Rally. This portfolio works closely with PWA and other portfolios to ensure belongings are moved efficiently and are available to participants at each overnight location. 

Nutrition 
Responsible for planning and coordinating food, nutrition and hydration throughout the Rally, ensuring participants have appropriate options to support their energy and recovery. 

Montreal Experience 
Responsible for liaising with ACCM and supporting some of the coordination of the Rally’s arrival in Montreal and the arrival party. This portfolio also supports Montreal-based riders by helping facilitate training rides, provide local guidance and strengthen connections within the Montreal cycling community. 

Road Support 
Responsible for coordinating road-based support throughout the Rally, working with the appropriate teams to help ensure riders are safe, supported and able to complete the route. 

Women’s & Gender-Diverse Experience 
Focuses on creating an inclusive and welcoming environment where women and gender-diverse participants feel supported, connected and valued throughout the Rally. This portfolio identifies opportunities to strengthen their experience and ensure diverse gender identities and experiences are considered across the Rally. 

Team Captains Lead 
Supports and connects Team Captains throughout the Rally year and during the event. This portfolio provides communication, resources and leadership support while creating opportunities for Captains to develop and contribute to the broader Rally community. It also coordinates the building of the teams through collecting and organizing participant preferences and information, matching participants and assembling teams for the Rally. 

US/Out-of-Town Ambassadors 
Builds connections with participants from outside the Toronto area and helps ensure they feel welcomed and supported. This portfolio strengthens relationships with out-of-town riders and communities and helps them navigate the Rally experience. 

Rally HQ 
This portfolio works closely with PWA during Rally week and serves as a central, physical hub for information, resources and support for riders and crew. The team also helps coordinate responses to questions, needs and issues that arise throughout the Rally.
