Friends For Life Bike Rally 2009

On July 26, 2009, 400 courageous individuals will embark on an incredible journey. For six days, our riders will cycle over 600km from Toronto to Montreal with the support of a fabulous crew, and in doing so will raise thousands of dollars for men, women and children living with HIV and AIDS. The experience promises to have a profound impact on the lives of each and every participant.

Part 2: Roundup with the Rubbermaid Rustlers

“See you at the Campsite!”

Our first campsite is on the private property of Sanford and Helen Ann Haskill, just west of Port Hope. This generous couple has welcomed us with open arms, letting us camp on their beautiful bluffs overlooking Lake Ontario, since 2005. The huge, grassy expanse becomes a virtual tent city within minutes of our arrival. Don’t wander too close to the edge!

June 17 Big Meeting
June 17 Big Meeting

It was exciting to have so many riders together for the June 17 "big meeting". See above photo. Clockwise, from the top centre: Rob + Stephanie: the right way to pack a bin, Faye + Jim: how road safety will guide you to Montreal, Jenni: handling a million details in preparation for the ride, Marisol and Murray give examples of valuable PWA services funded through proceeds from the ride, Todd and Michael: practicing the traditional Bike Rally celebration clap. Read your 2009 Participant Handbook (3.68 Mb) to ensure you're ready for our July 26 departure, and review the presentation slides (3.83 Mb) from this meeting.
